New Building Inner Strengths to Heal your Inner Critic with Focusing  

Tired of those relentless inner voices that seem intent on punishing or derailing you? At the same time, are you almost as weary of striving to subdue them, to find sanctuary from their often toxic messages? Join us as we explore a novel approach to heal the inner critic and to build strengths to experience more of what makes life worth living.

Based on extensive research on how to best work with the Inner Critic and to promote more joy in life, this four session experiential workshop incorporates a variety of exercises and approaches to:

  • Heal what is often an unwitting inner saboteur
  • Get out from under what can feel like a heavy grey cloud
  • Live with more ease and joy
  • Live a more fulfilling life!

Features include:

  • Review existing and new ways of using Focusing to work with the inner critic, including lots of new material and exercises
  • Learn other approaches to working with the inner critic that may be enhanced by adding Focusing
  • Discussion of related research and philosophies to further illuminate the topic
  • Time for group and partner practice of these different approaches
  • Supplementary handouts provided each week to augment material presented in class
  • Time for sharing, discussion and questions in a safe, supportive group

What you receive:

  • Four 2.5 hour classes
  • Each session will include time for group Focusing, didactic teaching, sharing within the group, time for Focusing partnerships to practice material discussed in the lecture
  • A variety of articles related to healing the inner critic
  • Focusing Exercises to support you in working with your own inner critic
  • Homework for assigned partnership Focusing and reading to do between classes
  • A better understanding of what the inner critic is and different approaches to working with it
  • In-depth work with your own inner critic in a safe, supportive environment
  • Class size limited to 8 participants


The fee for the program is $250 U.S. if paid by 21 December, 2017, $295 if paid by 4 January 2018, and $350 (space permitting) up to three days prior to the course beginning.


Successful completion of the Focusing Basics Program or the equivalent, or experience in doing inner work combined with a sincere desire to heal and grow.
